A group of journalists (Periscope) made a short film about what goes on at the bombed out church and what it means to people.
We had just come from a meeting with the Council, giving us notice to quit the church in September 2015. We knew that we would have to close for repairs, as we had helped to set it up between Historic England & Liverpool City Council, but we were not aware that we would be evicted and have to re-apply via a bidding process to regain access to St Luke's. This made a very bittersweet atmosphere at the bombed out church in the summer of '15, knowing that we had to move out and that things may never be the same again made us all feel sad, but determined to re-gain the church and "keep it open for everyone" from December 2016 onwards.
This wonderful painting is by Christine Enright "the spirit remains"
